A Rose for Miss Emily
This was an interesting story about a black women who had recently died. They go on to talk about her life and the events that had happened. It was intersting because theyspoke about a man who had come into her life. The town had been talking about her and him, and suddendly he had went back to his home. As the story goes on, and they get back to her death, they go into the house and break into this room that had been closed for 40 years. They found all of the gifts she had bought this man and his body. Next to it a long gray hair, from her head.

Brianna,
ReplyDeleteI would also agree on the story "A Rose for Emily", as I wasn't sure when I read it what the point was other then it just being an odd and/or creepy story. It did keep me interested as I was someone who wanted to understand what was next. In the end, I felt like I may have missed something as I couldn’t completely understand what the underlining message was until I took some time to really think about it. I took away that we don't always understand things or get why people do things as we don’t give them a chance. At times we must take a moment to review what is there and try to put ourselves in the shoes of the person to get some feeling for what they do. Doing this in this story, I feel like she just couldn't let him go, she wasn’t able to move life forward with everyone else. Therefore, she didn’t think there was any other way of keeping him than to kill him. She did what she could at that point to take care of him and even gave him gifts as in her eyes, that was how her life with him was meant to be.
